Hospice Care Week
Hospice Care Week is on the way and we have lots of exciting things in store…
Kicking things off on Sunday 6th October is our Musicals Concert with St. Edmund’s Choir at the Crosby Hall Educational Trust (CHET) in Crosby – tickets just £10!
Monday 7th October – our Corporate Challenge gets underway with business across Merseyside. Please get in touch to register your business.
Tuesday 8th October – we’re asking pubs across Liverpool and Merseyside to hold a pub quiz for the hospice and help us to raise awareness of local hospice care – please encourage your local to take part!
Wednesday 9th October – Get Baking for Hospice Care Week with our very own Cake Off! We’re very lucky to have the wonderful Flo Atkins, from Channel 4’s Great British Bake Off, to visit the hospice to judge the competition. Categories for the competition are – 1. The Best Cupcake, 2. The Most Desirable Design and 3, The Most Delicious Cake.
If you’d like to enter, please register with the fundraising team by Friday 4th October and then bring your masterpiece along to the San Jose patient lounge before 1.30pm on the Wednesday 9th October. Judging will commence at 2.30pm.
Thursday 10th and Friday 11th October – We’ll be playing lots of games with our patients and their families so come on down and play your cards right!
Saturday 12th October – To round off the week, we will host a special afternoon tea for our patients.
Organised by Hospice UK, Hospice Care Week is an annual week of activity to change perceptions and raise the profile of hospice care across the UK.
The theme for this year’s campaign is: ‘This is what it takes’… to provide hospice care and ‘this is what it takes’… to pay for it.
The campaign aims to highlight the less visible work that goes in to providing hospice care, such as all the materials and equipment necessary, and the less obvious ways we have to pay for it, such as through corporate sponsors and partners.
